Design is your craft—security should be your shield. In this guide, you’ll learn how to enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on your Figma account using a trusted Authenticator App. With this quick setup, your designs and collaborations will stay protected, no matter what.
Why Should You Use 2FA on Figma?
Your Figma account holds critical design assets, team access, and sensitive client materials. Enabling 2FA adds an extra layer of security—so even if someone gets your password, they can’t log in without your unique one-time code.
Step-by-Step: Set Up 2FA on Figma with an Authenticator App
1. Log in to your Figma account
Go to figma.com and log into your account as usual.
2. Click on your profile image
In the top-right corner, click your profile image and select Settings from the dropdown menu.

3. Navigate to “Security”
Scroll down to the Security section in the settings page.
4. Click “Enable” next to Two-Factor Authentication
You’ll be prompted to set up 2FA using a code-generating app like Authenticator.

5. Open your Authenticator App and scan the QR code
Use the Authenticator App for Figma, tap +, and scan the QR code displayed on Figma.

6. Enter the 6-digit OTP code
Your Authenticator app will generate a time-based code. Enter it in the field on Figma and confirm.

✅ Done! 2FA is now active on your Figma account.
Bonus Security Tips
Save your backup codes in a secure location.
Don’t use SMS-based 2FA—it’s less secure than app-based methods.
You can disable or update your 2FA anytime from your settings.
